I ran my first marathon last year and it will be always attached in my heart because of the joy I lived that day; I experienced pure happiness in that race and without looking for it, I qualified for the Boston Marathon.
I ran my second marathon this past Monday in Boston, and I can not help but thinking that it will be also incredibly glued in my soul forever.
My time was 3:55:20 Not as well as I hoped, but because I went there to enjoy this event without expectations, I have a bunch of great memories that I would not change for any better time. And I am happy as a pie with it.
So I am fully happy for:
-having full love and support from my family
-being around very joyful people
-watching so many faces along the race cheering for all the runners
-reading funny signs all over the race
-saying hi, hola and bonjour to runners
-picking up ridiculous amounts of orange slices
-passing by the Tunnel of Love
-smiling 99% of the time (yeah, the hills took the 1% off)
-running along with a 24 weeks pregnant woman kicking $ss
-hearing my husband calling my name 200 meters before the finish line
-passing by a barefoot runner complaining, but running
-the fabulous weather we had that day
-my medal!
-for the incredible organization of this event
-feeling like a superhero (and walking like a cool zoombie)
-for the good pain in my back right after I crossed the finish line
-an emotional group hug with my family at the end of the race
-because I KNOW I will run Boston again
Not so happy for:
-watching a lady felt on the ground on the 4 mile marker
-the people who made a great effort for qualify for Boston and could not enjoy this awesome race
-the last little tiny hill before turning to Boylston St (just kidding, this one was perfect to make this race as awesome as it is)
I. ABSOLUTELY. LOVE. BOSTON.
